The Old Hollywood-inspired romantic ghost story Love in the Moonlight, starring Neighbours actor Matty Wilson and Cassidy Krygger, has now officially been released and is streaming on YouTube.

Created by Melbourne filmmaker Cassidy Krygger, the 3-minute proof-of-concept was co-created and co-written with Jonathan Zsofi, who also directs the film. It offers audiences their first look at a feature currently in development.

Inspired by classic romantic fantasy such as The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, the film blends modern-day Australia with the glamour and longing of 1950s Hollywood.

The story follows Samantha, a young woman who moves into a grand estate, only to discover the house is not as empty as it seems. There, she encounters Jack Stirling, a 1950s movie star whose presence has lingered long after his death, setting the stage for a connection that shouldn’t be possible.

The project was developed as a proof-of-concept to introduce the world of the film and build momentum toward a feature-length version.

Since its release, Love in the Moonlight has begun generating strong audience response online, with early viewers calling for a full-length version, reinforcing the project’s potential as a feature.
