Production company SISTERHOOD PRODUCTIONS and distributor/financier Eternal Entertainment have just completed production on The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church, a heartfelt, sharply funny feature based on the celebrated stage play by Bo Wilson. Filmed at Sydney Film School, one of Variety’s Top Film Schools Worldwide, and featuring a talented ensemble including Kathryn Hartman (Love Child), Libby Fleming (Ten Pound Poms), Helen Kim (Wolf Like Me), Kelly Monisse (Malibu Crush), and Dilroop Khangura (NCIS: Sydney) and marks the feature directorial debut of Dean Owen-Sims.
The film follows five women from a small Southern church whose good-intent mission leads to revelations of friendship, forgiveness and faith.
Director Dean Owen-Sims says: “The wonderful wit and writing of Bo Wilson was undeniable — the script leapt off the page like a 1950s movie, something I’ve been looking for for a very long time. We made The Charitable Sisterhood with the heart of a true indie — a small, passionate team creating something honest and uplifting. It’s a faith-based story told through humour and humanity, led by five remarkable women who embody hope, compassion and the kind of community we all crave right now.”
