Winter down under certainly calls for loads of outdoorsy activities, and us Aussies are known for our adventurous side – no doubt. Whether it’s getting down and dirty with a rough sports game, going hiking or rock climbing – we know how to have a good time!

But, as much as we like adrenaline-pumping activities, chilling out is also something we love to do. And this comes in many forms, from laid back nights in, choosing a top no deposit casino listed on NoDeposit365 or even Netflix movie marathon…

So, if you’ve decided it’s time to give the outdoors a rest, make sure to get stuck into our top picks streaming now on Netflix.

1. Don’t Look Up

If you haven’t yet flicked on to watch the Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence movie Don’t Look Up, then it’s high time that you did. While Leo and JLaw aren’t usually known for doing comedic movies, this is a fun change of pace for both of them. The absurdist comedy with the two as astronomers also features a hilarious Meryl Streep in a madam president role and an all-star lineup with Jonah Hill, Timothee Chamelet, Cate Blanchett, Ariana Grande and more.

2. Bohemian Rhapsody

This one is impossible not to include on our list. Bohemian Rhapsody is the story of Queen and Freddie Mercury in particular and the events leading up to one of their most famous performances at Live Aid. Freddie Mercury lived a larger-than-life existence and Rami Malek does a great job of making the man a real human and exploring all his facets.

3. Dope

Dope is the freewheeling tale of a group of high school geeky students in an LA neighborhood that accidentally get up to some mischief in the mean streets, but use their charm and wits to wriggle their way out of about a million tricky situations. It’s both raw and heart-warming and the type of movie that just makes you smile – and laugh. Look out for ASAP Rocky and Chanel Iman as well as the irresistible Zoe Kravitz.

4. Baby Driver

Strap in for action with Baby Driver. This is the story of a partially deaf getaway driver with the baby face and the cool of an icicle. The car, the action scenes, the way that the movie is shot all lead to a balls-to-the-wall action movie that’s unmissable. Forget Fast & Furious, this movie could use a franchise that goes on for decades.

5. Uncut Gems

While this is the movie that launched a million Julia Fox memes, it’s so much more than that. It’s actually a fantastic ride that features Adam Sandler as a jeweler trying to get it together to pay off a string of bad debts. Didn’t think Adam Sadler could do a serious role? His turn as Howard Ratner in this movie will make you change your mind. He leans into the nuances of his character so expertly that you’ll be left hunting out other serious roles he’s played.

6. Two Hands

We better add in a classic Aussie movie to our list as it simply wouldn’t be complete without it! Two Hands, if you haven’t caught it, was one of Heath Ledger’s breakout roles, plus features Rose Byrne in her earlier days. The movie follows Heath as Jimmy, another guy with a debt to repay, and the lengths he goes to do so. Byrne plays the love interest and the pair’s chemistry can be wonderful to watch on screen.

7. House of Flowers The Movie

Taking a different track, if you have ever wondered about telenovelas, then House of Flowers The Movie is a good place to start. This movie has an accompanying TV series so you have something to binge if you get the taste for it. A Mexican soap-style affair with high production value, House of Flowers involves the dramas of a family in the flower business game, complete with dodgy deals, affairs, and more silliness than you can shake a stick at.

8. Do Revenge

In the style of greats like Mean Girls and Heathers, comes this dark comedy that revolves around that perfect high school clique and how to bring them down. Do Revenge is appealing to the eye and gives generous nods to the movies it salutes while being just a little verging on too derivative. Camila Mendes, more frequently seen as Veronica in Riverdale, has the perfect role for her here and nails every line with an expert touch. A fun watch for the afternoon.
