13 years after the events of The Ring and Ring Two, lank-haired ghost Samara is back, terrorising a whole new group of victims in this soft reboot from Spanish director, F. Javier Gutiérrez.
Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio are all present and correct and all the usual elements crop up in this admittedly brief trailer, but it’s difficult to say if there’s anything interesting or different being done with the material at this juncture. Still, we seem to be in the middle of a horror resurgence at the moment, which can only ever be a good thing.
Rings crawls into Australian cinemas on March 16, 2017.
