| Announcing the winner of Revelation’s Inaugural Pitch’d Battle ‘24
A new initiative for short filmmakers, Pitch’d Battle saw eight finalists presenting their Pitch Decks at an in-person session at The Backlot on Thursday 4 July.
Designed to provide opportunities for emerging short fimmakers, Pitch’d Battle connected creatives directly with industry professionals.
Revelation is pleased to announce the winner –
BLUEFEST – Theresa Roberts
And runner-up –
NO REFUNDS – Matthew Keenan
The winner receives the opportunity to meet with producers Julie Ryan (Cyan Films), Nicholas Hayes (Umbrella Entertainment) as well as a one-on-one session with Halo Films’ Ian Hale. Additionally, they receive a free cast and crew screening session at The Backlot, for when the time comes, a Rev Gold Pass and merch.
All members of the 8 finalists “Teams” received a Rev “Admit One” ticket, a one-time use ticket, redeemable for free entry to any upcoming Revelation event. Runner-up received a Rev “Gold Pass” and Rev merch.
The only event of its kind in Perth, Pitch’d Battle called for submissions last month with budding short filmmakers invited to submit a one-pager presenting their short film idea inspired by the prompt – “From The Ashes…” The event originating from Jethro Gartrell, Jake Isard, Tyler Isard and Nicholas Watson.
With the assistance of experienced producers, directors, and film lecturers, all submissions were anonymously reviewed and narrowed down to the top 8 finalist teams. These finalists must further develop their ideas, creating pitch decks to present at a pitch session hosted at The Backlot Perth. Each finalist team had 3 to 5 electrifying minutes to pitch, with their pitch deck serving as key supporting material. |
