Box Office Report: April 13 – 16, 2023

Super Mario and co. continue to dominate the box office, picking up every last crumb of the school holiday audience, which is set to continue for another week or so, which is only going to widen the gap between the haves and the have nots. Meanwhile, Makoto 'Your Name' Shinkai's latest, Suzume, opened without much fanfare outside its anime fanbase, but sending Mafia Mamma - which opened on twice as many screens and with many more sessions per day - to swim with the fishes.
