Carano, known for her roles in The Mandalorian and Haywire, has enjoyed a successful move from the octagon to the Hollywood industry. Her acting career spans just over a decade now. Carano, Cerrone (another former MMA star who made the switch to acting) and Nick Searcy (who starred in From the Earth to the Moon and Justified) were the main stars of Michael Polish’s recently-released Terror on the Prairie project.
Cerrone isn’t a stranger to sharing the big stage with other household names. The former Lightweight and Heavyweight fighter also starred in Mark Wahlberg’s 2020 film, Spenser Confidential.
The cast also featured Iliza Shlesinger, Winston Duke, Alan Arkin and Michael Gaston. Spenser Confidential centers around Boston police officer Spenser (played by Wahlberg) and companion Hawk (played by Duke), who team up to catch a pair of wanted criminals. Cerrone has a small role in the movie where he portrays “Big Boy.”
When he’s not working in the movie industry, Wahlberg can be spotted at sporting events in Boston. His home state of Massachusetts is making significant progress towards launching legalized sports betting. Once it goes live, sports fans in the state will be able to enjoy playing through multiple sport gambling apps such as DraftKings Massachusetts, which will likely offer special risk-free promos to new customers.
Through these sportsbooks, bettors in Massachusetts would be able to try a plethora of different wagers, including futures, over/under, point spreads, money lines and more. Sports fans in Massachusetts will be able to place wagers on their favorite teams such as the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox.
The supporting cast for Terror on the Prairie includes Mohammed Albaaj (Jack), Heath Freeman (Gold Tooth), Matthias Hues (Mr. Samuelson), Tyler Fischer (Long Hair) and Gabriel-Kane Day Lewis (The Kid).
Terror on the Prairie Film Synopsis

Terror on the Praire is set in the year 1872 in the state of Montana. The plot focuses on Carano’s character, Hattie McAllister, who tries to avoid the danger of a dangerous group of outlaws.
Cerrone plays Hattie’s husband, Jeb, who opts to leave town so he can earn some money for the financially-struggling family. Hattie is left to take care of their two young children on her own.
The Captain (played by Searcy) and his men happen upon the McAllister family household. Hattie kindly honours their requests for water and food and welcomes Searcy’s group into their home for a meal.
The meeting becomes cold, however, when Hattie orders the men to leave (she refuses to have killers in her home). They reluctantly obey her orders, but Hattie is left in a position to defend her family from a future attack by the outlaws.
The Strengths Of The Film
Cerrone’s character plays a central part of the plot, but he’s actually not featured too often throughout the film itself. Carano and Searcy, however, are more than up for the challenge as the two central characters in Terror on the Prairie.
Carano does a superb job in displaying the important qualities of a film’s main hero. She is fearless, determined and willing to do whatever it takes to protect her children, herself and the household.
Going up against a group of experienced outlaws does nothing to intimidate Carano, who takes the attacks from Searcy’s group very personally. The feud between the two sides is instrumental in building up the highly-anticipated and inevitable confrontation at the very end.
Searcy stars as the film’s merciless and unforgiving main antagonist. He brings a menacing and intimidating personality to the screen. His performance brings the elements of horror, nerves and fear for Hattie and her family.
Searcy and his gang of outlaws set up excellent pace throughout Terror on the Prairie. They keep the viewers on their toes as they try to come up with a plan for getting their vengeance on Hattie.
Terror on the Prairie isn’t a near-perfect movie by any means, but the film certainly checks off many of the boxes that you want in an action/adventure western film. The plot is emotionally-moving, the characters are intense and the buildup to the movie’s climax is top-quality stuff.
