Ah, East Of Eden. Another week, another super-stylish, hyper-contemporary, feminist-leaning reinterpretation of a classic literary property. Driven by showrunner Zoe Kazan (whose grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the 1955 version of East Of Eden with James Dean), with some eps directed by Aussie Garth Davis (Lion, Foe), starring the hot triumvirate of Florence Pugh, Mike Faist and Christopher Abbott, and shot in New Zealand (note Aussies like Robert Morgan and Anita Hegh in supporting roles), this looks like small screen, must-watch, awards-ready gold.

No thanks! Give me the original please, which was an absolutely fantastic movie with amazing performances! This may be from the same book but it sure doesn’t look anything like the same story!
