Raised by Wolves

On a mysterious planet, two androids – Mother and Father – are tasked with raising a group of children. Life on Earth is no more: it has been destroyed by a great war. This proves to be a difficult task, especially since a colony on the same planet, torn apart by religious differences, interferes with their work.

Raised by Wolves was created by screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski and has talent like David W. Zucker (The Terror, The Man in the High Castle) and science fiction veteran Ridley Scott. The series will have its premiere on HBO Max / Binge on September 3.

The Boys (Season 2)

Superheroes are here to help us fend off threats that are too much for normal people to handle. But what if they are not as good as they seem? The Boys – a group of vigilantes led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) want to take them on, and especially their corporate “masters” – to expose their abuses, along with the entire system that’s incredibly immoral and corrupt.

The series made its debut last year on Amazon Prime to rave reviews, praising it, especially for its relevancy.

The series created by Eric Kripke of Supernatural fame returns to Amazon Prime Video on September 4.

Away

The company that gave us The Witcher, Stranger Things, and some of the best documentaries to binge-watch will take us on a journey to our closest neighbour, Mars, in a series about hope and sacrifice, and humanity’s capability to do magnificent things when working together.

The series stars Academy Award winner Hilary Swank who, along with an international crew, will make the journey to the Red Planet on September 4.

Ratched

In Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Nurse Ratched is the main antagonist, based on a real nurse working in a real-life mental institution. In the novel – and the 1975 film – she is the main antagonist, a heartless tyrant corrupted by her power and authority over those committed. And now we’ll get to learn her backstory.

Set in 1947, the series tells the story of how the seemingly perfect nurse becomes completely rotten and corrupted inside, turning into the monster we all know and despise.

The series, starring Sarah Paulson, will hit Netflix on September 13.

The Third Day

Sam (Jude Law) is drawn to a mysterious island off the British coast inhabited by people who would do anything to preserve their traditions. When Helen (Naomie Harris) arrives seeking answers, things get even more complicated.

The Third Day will be a three-part miniseries with a twist: in between Sam’s story (Summer) and Helen’s story (Winter), there’ll be a special called “Autumn”, a one-off theatre event in London that will allow the followers of the series to “inhabit the story as it happens”. You can’t get more mysterious than this.

The first part of the series – “Summer” – will air on HBO on September 14, with “Autumn” scheduled for October 3, followed by the premiere of “Winter” on October 5. Only on HBO.
