There are many films that have included gambling as their main theme or in the background. Well, it is obvious that all the tricks used in the films cannot be used in real casino games as you have got so much to lose. But you can play free slots, poker, blackjack, bingo, and many other casino games without real money as an alternative on some casino sites where you can add more to the games by buying virtual tokens.

You can watch these gambling movies and then try your favourite actors’ strategies in such free casino games. Let’s get into our title topic:

Casino Royale

The name of the film makes it clear that gambling could be a theme here. Casino Royale is the first film with Daniel Craig playing 007 agent, James Bond, and immerses the viewer in the gaming world of Montenegro, poker tournaments, and business with evil. The film gained positive reviews. Bond is supposed to defeat LeChiffre in poker in order to have leverage in his hand because LeChiffre needs the poker win for illegal activities.

Rounders

Rounders is one of the popular Hollywood films with a poker game in the background. Leading actor Matt Damon gets into a dangerous gamble as a talented poker player Mike and even risks his life when his buddy is in massive money trouble and Mike is at his side. Many other poker films were made based on Rounders, but John Dahl’s streak is still considered the best in this segment. Insights into reading the opponent and the mental aspects of poker are paired with excitement and action in this film and thus ensure two hours of film enjoyment par excellence.

Runner Runner

Runner Runner with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck deals with the concept of online poker, with which leading actor Richie Furst earns his degree. One day he loses everything in a big tournament and suspects a planned rip-off. The film is based on a true story, that of poker player Net Arem, who uncovered a major online poker scam. That is why you should read the features and reviews of the online casinos before signing up.

Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels

After Casino Royale, this is another British movie on the list. Directed Guy Ritchie (The Gentlemen & Snatch), this film is more of a comedy genre but the story makes gambling fans’ hearts beat faster. A group of four friends want to shine at a big poker tournament and clear the big money, and to raise the £100,000 stake alone, they mess it up in numerous places and already have £500,000 in debt to the wrong people when the tournament begins.

Ocean’s Eleven

Even if the film is not particularly immersed in individual games of chance, it does provide exciting insights into the glittering world in Las Vegas and is primarily just fun. A gang of eleven criminals, played by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon among others, tries to rob the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas with a lot of wit and brains, and the film delivers good entertainment in the best popcorn cinema manner.

Casino

Martin Scorsese is known for making gangster movies and this film is all about gambling and gangsters. Robert DeNiro and Sharon Stone are the stars of the film Casino, which gives insights into Las Vegas in the ’70s and ’80s. Mafia, gangsters, casino hotels, and murder are in the foreground in this Hollywood classic which makes the history of the city easier to understand.

The Gambler

Mark Wahlberg shines in this gambler film that takes the subject of gambling addiction to the extreme. His character Jim Bennett plays without mercy and even has to borrow money, which puts his life at risk. Illegal casinos, blackjack, roulette, betting, and poker: life is nothing more for Jim Bennett and as a spectator, this character, who makes so many bad decisions, gets to the substance. Hollywood fever as it is supposed to be guaranteed in The Gambler and for true gambling fans, this film is a must.
