Village Cinemas celebrate the return of blockbusters with the launch of a series of new innovations
Following a tough year for the entertainment industry, plagued with Hollywood delays and extended closures, Village Cinemas are optimistic about the future of cinema. In addition to the launch of a brand new cinema, in the coming weeks, Village Entertainment will launch the Village Cinemas app, which will be available to download for free on the App Store, and Google Play store. Movie-lovers can plan their night at the movies with ease, and browse and book tickets directly in the app. Vrewards members can earn points, access their membership, watch trailers and set their favourite Village Cinemas locations. Chief Executive Officer at Village Entertainment, Kirk Edwards, is looking forward to celebrating the return of cinema in 2021.
“It will take much more than a global pandemic to quash the enthusiasm and excitement around the cinema experience. With an incredible line-up of films coming to our screens this year, the timing of this launch couldn’t be better. I am looking forward to being able to transport audiences back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Black Widow in April, taking them on the ride of a lifetime with Fast and Furious 9 in May and inviting them back to the world of espionage in No Time to Die in September. We are excited to see these stories christen our brand-new screens at Village Cinemas M-City.” Mr Edwards said.
Roc’s Social is the latest innovation from Village Entertainment, taking inspiration from the legacy of the Village Cinemas founder Roc Kirby, whilst adding a modern twist that combines delicious food, crafted drinks and social connection. Roc’s Social, a series of specialty bars across Melbourne, will open its doors in Knox with “The Playful One”, followed by “The Crafty One”, which will launch alongside the new cinema at M-City. Serving a crafted and globally inspired menu prepared from quality ingredients to produce exciting flavours, Roc’s Social will feature a varied and evolving drinks menu that features local favourites, but also allows for an exploration of something new.
“The team at Village Entertainment are passionate about creating shared moments, and allowing people to disconnect from the day to day, and connect through moments that really matter. Roc’s is all about facilitating these shared moments, that are complimented by food that excites the senses and a carefully curated drinks menu.” Mr Edwards continued.
Featuring mini bowling, shuffleboard, ping pong, bocce, cornhole and more, Roc’s Social “The Playful One” at Knox is home to an incredibly engaging space that is enhanced by a series of different entertainment options that hark back to a simpler time. Roc’s Social “The Crafty One” at M-City Clayton will keep guests guessing with a variety of different entertainment options, including trivia nights, mystery events and more. Roc’s Social and Village Cinemas M-City are planned to launch mid-2021.
