Tickets are now on sale for Russian Resurrection Film Festival 2017 and throughout October and November the festival will bring the best of Russian cinema and culture to Australia and New Zealand.

XIV Russian Resurrection Film Festival will kick off with a Gala Opening Night celebration in Sydney on Thursday 26th October before rolling out on screens in Canberra, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

The festival’s Opening Night parties in each capital city are renowned for showcasing fantastic live entertainment, Russian food, vodka cocktails and dancing.  Each year high profile actors and directors travel from Russia to attend.

Russian Resurrection Film Festival is the largest and oldest festival of Russian cinema outside of Russia. The 2017 program is bigger and better than ever featuring a stellar line up of new films and a special retrospective of renowned Russian Director Andrei Konchalovsky.

Festival Director Nicholas Maksymow says there’s something for everyone screening this year.

“From big-budget historical epics, to cold war true stories; sci-fi films exploring out of space,  laugh out loud comedies, and of course award-winning arthouse dramas and animation for the kids. There’s something for everyone on the program this year.  In addition to our 14 new films there’s a special retrospective celebrating the 80th birthday of legendary Director Andrei Konchalovsky. Don’t forget our famous opening night parties in each capital city which are a wonderful celebration of Russian culture.”
