Experience the allure of a 1941 art deco theatre and become captivated by inspiring, thought-provoking stories from seven countries that will challenge your perspective on the world.

The Adelaide Independent Film Festival’s (AIFF) official programme comprises over twenty short films from local, national and international filmmakers. It features an award winner from this year’s Sydney Film Festival, a short film from the prestigious American Film Institute, and short films selected at the Melbourne International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Flickerfest, and the St Kilda Film Festival.

Head of the Adelaide Film Festival’s Expand Lab, Julianne Pierce, co-founder of Karu-Karu Animation, Carlos Manrique Clavijo, and screenwriter, Jonathan Champ are members of the Jury.

This year, over 70% of short films were produced by female filmmakers. There are 5 Australian and 10 South Australian Premieres, in addition to the World Premiere of former Home & Away star Harley Bonner’s directorial debut.

There are nine awards to be won, including the Audience Award. Members of the audience can vote for their favourite short film by scanning a QR code from their smartphones or completing a brief form.

The inaugural Script Swap program will conclude by presenting the Best Screenplay award to one of the six nominated screenwriters.

The City of Unley and the Community Bank Goodwood proudly sponsor the AIFF through their sponsorship programs, with the Mayor of Unley presenting the Best Unley Short Film award to the winning filmmaker on stage.
