Aussie comedy Stage Mums is back for a third season, bigger and better than before!

With a cast list boasting TV and instagram stars headed up by some of Australia’s top production crew, Stage Mums is set to get bigger and better.

Stage Mums, is a comedy web series about two mothers who will do anything to make their quadrupley talented daughters famous. It’s Dance Moms, Absolutely Fabulous and Kath & Kim all rolled into one! The brain child of Anna Waters-Massey, Stage Mums has grabbed the attention of seasoned professionals in the industry who have jumped on board to create Stage Mums season 3 which wrapped filming on the Gold Coast last weekend.

Director Louise Alston (Neighbours, All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane, Jucy) jumped at the chance to work on Stage Mums and flew up from Melbourne to work with the team. Award winning DOP and cinematographer Andrew Conder (The Shallows, Mako Mermaids, The Family Law) added his creative sense of humour to the quirky comedy, before heading to Melbourne to work on Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Cast includes actors from H2O Just Add Water, Mako Mermaids, Neighbours and some surprise guests and instagram stars. Lead roles are played by Anna Waters-Massey and Tara Page, joining them as their respective daughters are Cleo Massey and Samantha Pearce. Gerry Connolly and Brooke Nichole Lee play the arch nemesis mother daughter team of Amanda and Penelope Kingsford-Smythe. Guest appearances include Jessica Green and Kurt Coleman.

Louise Alston first directed the mother daughter team of Anna and Cleo 10 years ago in the award winning thriller, Humidity Rising. “I am delighted to be working on Stage Mums season 3. I’m a big fan and I am especially excited to work with the mother daughter team of Anna and Cleo again.”

Producer Kris Maric (Humphrey B Bear, Boar, We Were Tomorrow) is thrilled with the calibre of people working on this next leg of the web series. “We have some fabulous talent and sponsors who have come on board Stage Mums. It’s great to see the Gold Coast community so supportive of the arts and independent filmmakers.”

Season 1 and 2 of Stage Mums, showed at various festivals, has won a number of awards and has gathered an international audience online. The series  aired on Fairfax Media’s online channels nationwide. Stage Mums season 3 will see a star studded cast and great production value which is sure to delight and build on their already established audience.
