Speakers Announced for Dame Changer Screen Tank 2019
The first round of local and international guest speakers has been announced today for Dame Changer’s Screen Tank 2019.
Joining program facilitator, film and distribution consultant Beatrice Neumann is Oscar-nominated writer/producer Meg LeFauve (Inside Out, Captain Marvel); producer of The Babadook, Cargo and The Nightingale Kristina Ceyton; Screen Herd content strategist, Beatrix Holland; and Jonathan Page, founder of film production and distribution company Bonsai Films.
Screen Tank 2019 will take place in Sydney from 1-3 May, with the program offering Australian screen professionals the opportunity to learn from senior industry specialists about how to accelerate screen projects to market.
Twelve successful applicant projects will take part in an intensive three-day workshop, including a project market review session to further define and market-validate film and TV projects, and generate the momentum towards financing. At the conclusion of the program, teams will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to distributors in one-on-one meetings and receive constructive feedback.
Acquisitions and distribution executive Beatrice Neumann returns to facilitate the program. Neumann had a successful career in film acquisitions working on films such as Fishtank, The Cove and I Am Love, before becoming an independent international film consultant at Inside Pictures. Her clients range from film festivals and government bodies to individual filmmakers.
“The inaugural Screen Tank 2018 was an incredibly empowering experience for everyone involved,” said Neumann. “I particularly savoured the atmosphere of collaboration in which speakers openly shared their knowledge and wealth of experience and look forward to creating more opportunities for mid-career women to accelerate their projects.”
As part of the program, producer Kristina Ceyton and executive producer Johnathan Page will present a case study on the success of the cult hit film The Babadook.
