A Fistful of Scripts [season 7] | We write ‘em. They read ‘em. You hear ‘em

The rumours are true. A Fistful of Scripts is returning for [season 7]

Callumny Films announces A WAY TO LIVE by Peter Levy will reboot A Fistful Of Scripts this coming Summer 2018. Now in its seventh season, A Fistful of Scripts will bring the audience not only more of what they want, but what they demand. This time: an Australian buddy movie about crime – without the cops and robbers.

Established in July, 2010, the respected, innovative script development incubator returns on Thursday 11 January 2018, 3pm to 5pm at Cinema 1, ACMI (Federation Square, Melbourne) with its newest industry partner – Callumny Films. A Fistful of Scripts will also present its first ever full length feature film script – a black comedy, action / drama feature film.

In July 2015, A Fistful Of Scripts [season 6] sold out within days. Audiences are still raving about KIDS, the script that packed out every seat at Melbourne Theatre Company’s (MTC) Lawler Theatre, Southbank. KIDS was commissioned by Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV), and presented in conjunction with Jimmy Flinders Productions during MAV’s 2015 NEON festival partnership with MTC.

A Fistful of Scripts brings life once more to the written word for both theatre and screen audiences by gathering Melbourne’s most talented and driven writers, actors, directors and producers.

“It may sound obvious but writers write so actors can act. Actors act so directors can direct. The script development process is about moving towards an outcome where an audience hears the words and sees the action,” said Wise Words Media’s, Sean McIntyre. “A Fistful of Scripts is also a great way for creative industry types to network and stay ‘match fit’ in between gigs”.

Staged in ‘cold reading’ format a Q & A forum will then follow. This allows the audience to participate directly by providing script input to give immediate feedback directly to the writer, performers, director and producer. In bringing all these elements together, the prime objective is that the event aims to be 100% non-profit while meeting all expenses and outlays.
