LIGHTS, CAMERA AND ACTION…ADG AWARDS 2018 EARLY BIRD ENTRIES OFFICIALLY OPEN!

The Australian Directors Guild (ADG) has announced that early bird entries are officially open for the 2018 ADG Awards.

The majority of early bird entries receive a $30 discount (submission fees vary based on the category) and the deadline for early submission is Thursday 21 December 2017. The award nominations will be announced in March 2018 and the ceremony will be held in May 2018.

The ADG Awards recognise excellence in the craft and art of directing, as well as recognising individual contributions by Australian Screen Directors to film, television, documentary, animation and interactive media. The Awards are the only opportunity for Australian directors and their works to be acknowledged by their directing peers.

These prestigious Awards cover the breadth of screen directing, with categories across feature film, documentary, television, Subscription Video on Demand, commercial, short film, animation, online and music video.

Previous winners include 2017 recipients Garth Davis for Best Direction in Feature Film for Lion and Dan Jackson for Best Direction in a Documentary Feature for his work on In the Shadow of the Hill, set in the largest favela in Brazil.

To be eligible for the Awards, all work must have screened publically for the first time between 1 July 2016 and 31 December 2017, except for student films where the project needs only to have been completed within these dates.

Award applicants must be financial ADG members. Membership details available at: www.adg.org.au/membership
