Occupation Trailer Is Like Nothing We Have Seen in Australia

May 10, 2018
Luke Sparke's follow-up to Red Billabong looks like a genre film fan's dream.

Aliens, spaceships, Dan Ewing playing Aussie Rules and saving the world… it’s all here, and produced in sunny Queensland by the team that brought us Red Billabong. And based on the trailer, it looks like all of the money has been put on the screen!

The synopsis goes something like: “After their small Australian country town is annihilated by an overwhelming airborne attack, a group of civilians evade capture and discover they are now among the last remaining survivors of an extraterrestrial invasion engulfing the entire planet. As humanity falls under world-wide occupation, they form a home-grown army to fight back against vastly superior enemy forces. On the frontlines of the battle for Earth, they are our last hope.”

The film also features Jacqueline McKenzie, Temuera Morrison, Stephany Jacobsen, Aaron Jeffery, Bruce Spence, Roy Billing, Ben Chisholm, Felix Williamson and Izzy Stevens.

Watch out for it in cinemas around Australia from July 12, 2018.
