Melbourne Readers! Win Tickets to Bikie Thriller 1%

See this hardcore new Aussie action thriller and meet the director!

Thrilling audiences from the Toronto Film Festival to Fantastic Fest, go on a high horsepower ride with 1%, an Australian-made feature debut focusing on a turf war brewing between rival motorcycle gangs.

Paddo (Ryan Corr) has been the glue holding together the Copperheads Motorcycle Club while the gang’s president Knuck (screenwriter Matt Nable) serves time in prison. Not only that, Paddo has significantly increased the club’s lucrative money laundering racket. But trouble is on the horizon when Knuck is released and resents his protege’s success, and when a blunder by Paddo’s brother (Josh McConville) attracts negative attention from rival bikie gang leader Skink (Aaron Pedersen), the stage is set for gang warfare both within and without the club.

Taking his cues from Shakespeare, director Stephen McCallum orchestrates a who’s who of local talent, crowned with a powerhouse performance from rising star Abbey Lee as Paddo’s ambitious and scheming girlfriend Katrina, who is not about to let her man be swept aside by Knuck’s machinations.

McCallum will be on hand for a special Q&A screening of 1% at Melbourne’s Cinema Nova on Tuesday, October 9, and we have five double passes to give away. To be in the running, simply email [email protected] with ONE PERCENT GIVEAWAY in the subject line and tell us what your favourite motorcycle movie is and why. Entries close October 7, 2018.

1% is in cinemas from October 18, 2018.
