Following on from his short, The Death and Life of  John Vaughan, Michael Wormald makes his feature debut with the indie drama, Choir Girl, set to lens in Melbourne next month.

According to the presser, “Choir Girl is a gritty drama set in the 90’s about a lonely photographer, Eugene, who becomes obsessed with Josephine, a young girl who is trapped in the illegal sex trade by a powerful underworld criminal named Daddy.”

Written and directed by Wormald and produced by Ivan Malekin of Nexus Production Group and Lucinda Bruce, the film stars Peter Flaherty, as our lead character Eugene, Krista Vendy, Kim Valentine, Andy McPhee and the legendary Roger Ward (Mad Max, Turkey Shoot).

It’s early days yet, but it sounds intriguing. Keep an eye on production over at www.choirgirlfilm.com. In the meantime, check out the poster:
