The Film: One of the great underrated dramas, The Fabulous Baker Boys is unfortunately more well known for Michelle Pfeiffer's sexy piano-top version of "Makin' Whoopee" than for its rich character dynamics. Jeff and Beau Bridges are brilliant as a pair of piano playing brothers whose routine hits a spin when they bring in sexy lounge singer Michelle Pfeiffer to spice up their act. Directed with smoky, jazzy, low key flair by Steve Kloves (believe it or not, now making his living adapting the Harry Potter novels for the screen!) The Fabulous Baker Boys is a true gem.
