The Film:
The Farrelly Brothers have a special talent for taking the most potentially offensive material - obesity in Shallow Hal, bipolar disorder in Me, Myself & Irene - and giving it an oddly heartfelt, surprisingly sensitive treatment. In terms of this penchant for mixing the sacred and the profane, Stuck On You is their best yet. Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon are small-town conjoined twins ("We're not Siamese, we're American!") and best buddies who face a massive life change when Kinnear's more cocksure brother wants to head to LA to make it as an actor. While in Hollywood, the pair find both acceptance (in the very comely shape of the ditzy Eva Mendes) and bigotry, as well as on-air stardom courtesy of Cher, who plays herself as a Queen Bitch. Though the laughs fly thick and fast, Stuck On You is also rich with sentiment (but not sentimentality) and warmth.
The Features: Audio commentary with The Farrelly Brothers; nine deleted scenes with optional commentary; making-of featurette; "It's Funny - The Farrelly Formula"; makeup effects featurette; blooper reel.
