Notorious is as epic and moving as its namesake, rapper Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G, who left a life on the streets to tell stories about life on the streets.

Superbly acted scenes are intercut with archival footage of Biggie's real life concerts, and the crowds of fans who flooded the streets after he was tragically shot dead at age 24.

This DVD features the director's cut of the film, which is six minutes longer than the theatrical release, as well as an extra ten deleted scenes, plus a huge 90 minutes of extra features which will pique the interest of rap enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Alongside featurettes offering insight into the casting, the choreography and the director's attempt to move away from the typical biopic genre, a whole team of Biggie's actual friends and family members are interviewed about their collaboration on the film. It's like a built-in assurance that the filmmakers really know their stuff. The behind-the-scenes footage on Notorious: Director's Edition intriguingly shows how Biggie's concerts, life, and death were expertly recreated, while the film itself sings the praises of a rapper who is still loved and admired as much in death as he was in life.
