Some movies have franchise written all over them. In fact, most blockbusters come on like they're already a franchise. But Men In Black is a bit classier than that. It has had the sense not to distort its purity of vision by getting into a "bidding war" on special effects. It helps too that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are both back and have retained their charisma and self-mocking charm. It doesn't depart significantly from the first one, but it's solidly constructed entertainment which will rent well through Xmas and beyond.
