“A total mess of a film...”

Moving from the mid-western bible belt to college, all round Miss Goody Two Shoes, Angie (Sarah Thompson) finds the transition from godly home life to ‘wild' college life more than shocking. Struggling to cope with her tuition fees, she answers a babysitter wanted (that's where the title's from) ad to look after a family's child who live outside town. But upon arriving at the remote farm she soon discovers the real reason she's there and the dark secret the family have been hiding.

Starting as something of a psychological thriller, Babysitter Wanted quickly turns into a demonic torture porn movie, but ultimately fails to deliver enough of either. Sarah Thompson delivers a solid performance as the unsuspecting heroine while Bruce Thomas and Kristen Dalton are suitably maniacal as the Satan worshipping parents. Babysitter Wanted is a movie of two halves that look like they've been directed by two different people. The first half of the movie gradually builds suspense and a genuine air of tension as Angie is stalked by a mysterious sequence of events. But when we discover why this is happening the movie virtually turns into a comedy. A total mess of a film from start to finish.
