FILMINK rates DVDs and Blu-rays out of 5“Unless you’re a real military enthusiast, this documentary won’t hold your attention…”

This two-part documentary follows past missions of the world's elite soldiers. The first part deals with a group of American Green Berets in Vietnam who trained and led South Vietnamese troops on covert operations during the war. The second highlights the role Germany's GSG-9s played in rescuing passengers on board Lufthansa Flight 181, which was hijacked by terrorists in October 1977. The film includes interviews with former soldiers and witnesses and features re-enactments and historical video.
It's interesting to a point, but the details of the missions are not going to be for everyone. Unless you're a real military enthusiast, this documentary won't hold your attention for the duration of its three-hour run time. And the delivery of the film's husky-voiced narrator borders on the corny.
