As Pharaoh Mann, Bernard Hill, begins his ascendancy to power on an extremist right wing platform; his wife, happens to come across a baby abandoned by gypsies. Twenty years later, Pharaoh has secured power, Britain has become a neo-fascist state and Moses, Daniel Percival, has grown up and begun to question his father's rule. On a visit to ‘Dreamland', a camp where all foreigners, drug addicts, unemployed, homeless and all other ‘undesirables' are housed in a ghetto, Moses finds out who his real family is. Now reunited with ‘his people', Moses sets about setting them free.
If you haven't guessed it yet, Exodus is a modern remake of the tale of Moses freeing the slaves of Egypt. The big question would be, ‘do we really need it?', and the answer would be ‘NO'. With shockingly bad dialogue, primary school nativity play sets, and some of worst acting in recent memory, especially from Daniel Percival as Moses - but Bernard Hill and his quasi-Elvira hairdo also deserves a special mention - Exodus is a total turkey of a movie from start to finish; the finale is particularly excruciating. If you weren't an atheist going into this, you will be coming out.
