Released on July 24, Toy Story 3 made history for Walt Disney Studios, Australia by becoming the Studio's all time highest grossing film at the local box office.

Now the animated sequel about toys that come to life has made further history, standing as the tenth highest ever grossing film at the Australian box office, collecting $41,342,802.

Just inching above Toy Story 3 is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which TS3 will surely pip in the coming days as it continues to play to strong word of mouth.

While Avatar unsurprisingly heads the list grossing $114,797,281, other entries in Australia's top ten highest earning films of all time include Shrek 2, The Dark Knight and each of the films in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Toy Story 3 reunites voice stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen and has Woody the cowboy, Buzz Lightyear and their toy pals worried about where they will end up now that Andy is off to college.

The film, which has received high praise from critics and fans alike, has recorded impressive box office results worldwide.
