Encouraged by the impressive opening weekend results for Snow White & The Huntsman, Deadline has reported that Universal is taking the first steps in lining up a sequel to the fantasy actioner.

They're attempting to recruit David Koepp (Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man, Angels & Demons) to work on the screenplay and are enticing Rupert Sanders, who made his directorial feature debut with the original film, to return to helm the follow-up.

Some reports have suggested that the film may have a more prominent focus on Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman character this time around - which may work, especially considering the Australian actor's star is seriously on the rise at the moment thanks to Thor and The Avengers.

Easing the potential transition is the fact that both Hemsworth and its leading lady, Kristen Stewart, are optioned for two more sequels.
