Production Commences On ‘Pawn Shop Chronicles’
Wayne Kramer’s ensemble comedy/drama – set to star Elijah Wood, Matt Dillon and Paul Walker – is kicking into gear.

Shooting has just kicked off in Louisiana on the twisted comedy, Pawn Shop Chronicles, which stars an eclectic ensemble cast including Elijah Wood, Matt Dillon (pictured), Paul Walker, Brendan Fraser, Vincent D'Onofrio, Pell James, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Chi McBride and Ashlee Simpson.
The film, being touted as a dark comedy in the vein of Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski, follows a man searching for his abducted wife, a gang of white supremacist meth heads and a sad sack Elvis impersonator - all of whom are linked through items sold or found in a small Southern town's local pawn shop.
With a script penned by Adam Minarovich, the director recruited to oversee the film is Wayne Kramer who helmed 2009's immigration drama Crossing Over, 2006's actioner Running Scared starring Paul Walker, 2003's Las Vegas drama The Cooler, and is currently developing other projects including the futuristic drama Ecstasia.
Jordan Schur (Warrior, Stone, Henry's Crime), who oversaw the project from its acquisition as a script to securing its director and cast, will produce alongside, David Mimran, Paul Walker, Nick Thurlow and Steven Schneider.
"This is a superbly written mind-bender of a story that grabs you from the first line, and doesn't let go," said Schur. "We are incredibly fortunate to have found Wayne Kramer to present it, and equally thrilled with the diverse and talented cast assembled."
