After stealing each of her scenes in Bridesmaids and getting nominated for an Oscar in the process, actress Melissa McCarthy will reunite with director Paul Feig to headline a buddy cop movie, also set to star Sandra Bullock.

Based on a screenplay by Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation), the film follows the strained working relationship between a high-strung FBI agent (Bullock) and an unconventional Boston cop (McCarthy) who team up to take down a Russian gangster.

For anyone not entirely sold on the sound of this project, there's some assurance in the fact that there's some funny minds behind this film. Plus, Bullock has already had FBI agent training in the Miss Congeniality movies...

Production is set to start later this year after McCarthy wraps Seth Gordon's Identity Thief and Bullock finishes Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi feature Gravity.

Feig meanwhile is focusing on his next film, the English-language remake of the French film, The Intouchables, which was a huge hit in France when it was released last year. Seeing as western audiences aren't a fan of subtitles, we're getting a version with Colin Firth...
