With its release date scheduled in for November 22 of next year, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has officially commenced shooting under the direction of Francis Lawrence. Production will kick off in Atlanta, Georgia, before shifting to Hawaii.

Returning for the anticipated sequel are Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.

But exciting additions to the cast this time round include Philip Seymour Hoffman set to tackle the role of Plutarch Heavensbee, the new head Gamekeeper; and Jena Malone who plays Johanna, a sly young girl selected as “tribute”.

This instalment follows Sutherland’s President Snow as he prepares for a surprise 75th Games, which will see returned heroes, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), headed back to the arena with victors from previous years.

To mark the start of production, Lionsgate studio have opened up a worldwide sweepstakes competition, offering fans the chance to visit the set of the film and meet the cast and crew. To enter, fans just need to upload a thirty second video asking their top question to the film’s cast.
