A collection of photographs from behind the scenes of the new Australian film Last Ride will be exhibited at Palace Verona, Sydney and Cinema Nova, Melbourne to coincide with the release of the film. The exhibition, which is on now, includes stills from the film, behind the scenes portraits and pre-production photographs taken by director Glendyn Ivin, director of photography Greig Fraser and his assistant Ari Wegner.

Last Ride stars Hugo Weaving (Little Fish, Lord of the Rings) and introduces to the screen the young Tom Russell. It tells the story of the relationship between father and son as they escape into the desert, exploring their troubled relationship as they go.

Along with taking many photographs during the making of the film, Glendyn Ivin kept a diary and blog documenting the process. The blog can be seen at www.lastridemovie.com however Ivin had other plans for the photos. "We really wanted to do something special with the images that we generated over the past year and half. We have thousands of images sitting on hard drives, so it was tricky to make a final selection. The collection is made up of images from the entire process of production. From the first photo I took of Tom Russell in a screen test in Adelaide to his last photo on set, through to portraits of Hugo Weaving and details from location surveys. Whether behind the scenes or stills from the film, they all go to creating a visual and tonal extension of the film."
