Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs Takes Over Bondi Beach.

Tourists and locals may have been a tad confused on the morning of Tuesday, December 1, when they spotted 8 tonnes of snow, a toboggan ride and a couple of large furry creatures dancing on Bondi Beach. This rather strange spectacle on the first day of summer wasn't the cause of global warming but the celebration for the Blu-ray and DVD release of Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

With blue-iced cupcakes, donuts and plenty of giveaways, including Ice Age toys, stationery packs and posters, the "Bondi Ice Age Freeze" event was a mini iced wonderland for the film's young fans.

The morning turned out to be largely successful as children lined up for the toboggan ride and shook hands with Ice Age characters, while their parents admired the glass Christmas tree that was on display amongst the snow (get it, it's a great Xmas gift idea!!).

Amidst all the excitement and snow fights, however, there was a significant reason for Twentieth Century Fox's festive mood, which the wildly enthusiastic children may not have been aware of. According to Kristen McGrath, Associate Director of Publicity and Promotions at Fox, the icy event was also a celebration of the global success of the Ice Age franchise, with the third instalment becoming the third highest-grossing film of all time at the International Box Office with worldwide receipts totalling nearly $900 million (US).

As the much loved prehistoric characters from Ice Age and Ice Age: The Meltdown reunite to discover a lost world of dinosaurs in Ice Age 3, the highly-successful and popular animation will now be taking the adventure onto Blu-ray and DVD for the busiest gift-giving period of the year, with a special features packed product that enables children to actively interact with Ice Age 3 characters. Ice Age 3 also comes with a Digital Copy value-add, enabling you to transfer the film on to portable media players and iPods.

Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs is available to rent and own on DVD and Blu-ray from December 2, 2009
