Gyllenhaal and Foxx May Be Moving Into The White House

The pair are in talks to star in Roland Emmerich’s new actioner...

It appears that Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal are very close to being confirmed to star in Roland Emmerich's action drama, White House Down.

The script from The Amazing Spider-Man writer James Vanderbilt (whose other screenwriting credits include Zodiac and the upcoming RoboCop) concerns a sudden paramilitary takeover of the White House and somewhat worryingly - or perhaps unsurprisingly given the director at the helm - has been likened to Die Hard.

Channing Tatum has already been cast as the hero of the piece and Gyllenhaal will play a secret service agent, while Foxx is in talks to play the President.

Emmerich took a break from explosions and apocalyptic events with his previous outing, last year's historical thriller Anonymous, but he looks to be back on familiar turf with White House Down. Cast your bets now on whether he'll succumb to blowing the President's House up...
