Funny Vegan
An Aussie Vegan is taking on the Yanks!

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Joanne Rose is one creative and funny vegan. As an actor, writer and producer of her own comedic web series, Vegan 101, Rose has launched the first four episodes (Dating a Vegan, Veg Book, Happy Vegan Birthday and The Raw Experience) of this organically hilarious series onto the web television networks, Koldcast.TV and comic actor Will Ferrell's FunnyorDie.com.
While some people merely label themselves as vegans without really committing to the lifestyle, Rose has been a vegan since she was a teenager. As founder of VeganVision.net, author of the popular children's book Tommy Tofu Saves The Day, and a spokesmodel for Nutiva and the Green Lifestyle Film Festival, there's no denying that Rose is one dedicated vegan.
Rose is now channelling her vegan know-how through her talent in acting, which she first became passionate about on a vacation to California, and has subsequently taken to television, film and the stage in both Australia and America.
Teamed with Michael Ojeda as Director of Photography, Rose created Vegan 101 in the hopes of inspiring, educating and entertaining everyone, especially non-vegans, through comedy. "People love to laugh and be entertained, so it's a way of informing others about veganism in a different light," explains Rose. "I hope to achieve international success so the word ‘vegan' becomes a strong part of the global vocabulary, which will influence others to learn about the lifestyle through curiosity and fascination. With entertainment, people won't shun away."
And with ambitions to adapt the web series into a stage production, it seems as though nothing can stop this vegan in her quest to inform the masses about vegan life as Rose is mounting a reading in Los Angeles this winter for plans to run a full production in 2010.
In addition to this, Rose is working on two more vegan-themed books and a whole line of Vegan 101 episodes with eccentric titles such as, Confessions of a Vegan, The Kerri-Anne Kettle Corn Show and Diaries of a Vegan Gossip, which may already have you laughing....
