Centipede To Hit Cinemas
Having been resubmitted to the Australian Government Classification Board, the previously banned ‘The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence’ has been granted a rating.

Hardcore horror buffs outraged that they would miss the chance to see Tom Six's The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence in all its squirming cinematic glory will be excited to hear that the previously banned film has been granted an R18+ rating and thus can be screened in the country.
In a decision that outraged many a few weeks ago, The Australian Classification Review Board overturned the film's initial R+ rating from the Office of Film & Literature Classification, ruling that Six's follow-up film to the director's twisted horror flick from last year would be refused classification.
In response to this decision, the film's Australian distributor, Monster Pictures, released a statement expressing their "disappointment in the decision" and their fear of "the growing and alarming trend of fundamentalism pervading the public arena."
Having been resubmitted to the Australian Government Classification Board, the film was granted an R18+ certificate this time round with consumer advice that warns, "High impact themes, violence and sexual violence."
In acquiring this rating, the horror flick has been modified by thirty seconds but Monster Pictures ensures the changes "were done with the utmost care so as to not damage the integrity of the film."
In response to this lift on the ban, Monster Pictures says that they feel this decision highlights the absurdity of the Classification Review Board's decision to ban the film in the first place.
"We would like to take this opportunity to applaud the Director of the Classification Board for this decision and to express how pleased we are that the film is being judged on the merit of its content rather than the hype surrounding the film," the film's Australian distributor offered.
For the uninitiated, The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence follows a mentally challenged security guard who becomes obsessed by the premise of the first film, which sees a mad scientist surgically connecting three people mouth-to-anus. He plans to make his own human centipede, but this time with a dozen people.
While film buffs, advocates of free speech and conservative groups may have been getting their knickers in a knot over the whole debacle, one person sitting back and surely enjoying all the fuss is Tom Six (pictured) who has scored himself some great, money-can't-buy publicity...
Melbourne's Cinema Nova will begin screening the modified version of the film on Boxing Day 2011.
The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in late February 2012.
