Bondi Bound
The films of the WA Screen Academy are becoming increasingly visible on the short film festival circuit of Australia.

On November 28 at the Bondi Pavilion, the Bondi Short Film Festival - not to be confused with the Flickerfest Short Film Festival which hits the same venue in early January - will showcase 14 short films from around Australia.
This year's programme features two films produced by the WA Screen Academy, a film and TV school that's affiliated with the prestigious acting school WAAPA.
The Bucks Party is a drama about the fractured relationships of a bunch of mates out on a bucks night, and is the second time its director Mike Hoath has had a film appear at the Bondi Short Film Fest after last year's Dogs Run Loose Around Here. The Bubbleologist (pictured) is an experimental five-minute documentary about Andrew Suttar who has turned a childhood fascination with bubbles into a lifelong passion for bubbles as entertainment, science and even philosophy (hey, the world's a bubble!).
WA Screen Academy Director John Rapsey and Associate Director Andrew Lewis will be visiting Sydney on November 17 - 20 and John Rapsey will be in Melbourne on November 21-22 to speak with potential applicants for next year's WA Screen Academy courses. To make an appointment contact: Kathy Wheatley on (08) 9370 6421 or by emailing.
