Groundbreaking debut feature finds Red Carpet Premiere and Australian release
July 05, 2011 12:44
Participate Film Academy has announced that the debut feature from director Dagan Herceg, 'Horizons Crossing', will have its red carpet premiere at the Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Sydney on August 10.
'Horizons Crossing', which is the fifth movie released by Participate Film Academy, will go on to screen around Australia. Executive Producer Artur Kade is the man who made it all possible. The thrilling narrative was crafted by scribe K.G. Donovan ('The Day Hollywood Died') as well as Adrian Tan and Eva Acharya.
Herceg’s directorial debut, 'Horizons Crossing', is a dark romantic thriller featuring a cast of local talent, and follows the story of a young girl who is haunted by visions of two lovers after a near-fatal accident – sending her on an obsessive quest to uncover whether the visions are real or imagined.
Arabella MacPherson, an exciting local starlet, leads as Abby and shares the spotlight with up and coming actor Aaron Glenane ('The Black Balloon') who plays Abby’s desperate companion Tom. The electrifying debut feature boasts plenty of young talent with the two central characters of Abby’s visions, Marie (Bonnie Kellet) and Theo
(Shant Sarkissian) both providing strong performances alongside recognisable thesps Liliya May and Drew Pearson.
"It’s been an exciting process, producing the film and learning at the same time,” Herceg recalls. "It’s great to see so much attention on it already and I encourage local audiences to go and see it - we all feel we’ve been working on something special."
With tickets selling fast the Sydney premiere is expected to draw significant numbers.
The proud students who came together to build the film include Tim Scutt, Kirsty Freeman, Pratheep Ramachandran, Mahmoud Rifaie, Adrian Tan, Carlos Choconta, Nick Mayfield and Antony Finoccharo.
Participate Film Academy, the revolutionary Sydney-based film school providing courses that directly engage students with a full-scale feature production, has released four feature-length films already. The school has
provided a springboard for the professional careers of its students, with dozens going on to find success, both in front of and behind the camera, in popular features like 'The Combination', 'Tomorrow When the War Began' and
many more.
Exclusive tickets to the Premiere can be purchased through www.participate.com.au, www.ticketek.com.au, www.horizonscrossing.com or by calling the Participate Film Academy on +61 2 9209 4309.
