What is the Reel Australia? Be Part of the 2011 Australia Day Celebrations!

September 01, 2010 12:55

If you are a proud and patriotic Australian who loves to support or create films, the Australian Film Institute and Australia Day Council of NSW have partnered to launch an all-Australian new short film competition, REEL AUSTRALIA - as part of the 2011 Australia Day Celebrations.

From the 1 September until 3 December 2010 you can create a two minute short film that creatively interprets the question ‘What is the Reel Australia?’ and through creative expression ultimately reveals who we are as a nation. It could be exploring what we wear, what we say, where we go, how we play - it’s completely up to you!

A stellar line up of award winning Australian directors and actors make up our esteemed judging panel.
- Gyton Grantley
- Deborah Mailman
- Erik Thomson
- Rebecca Gibney
- Vince Colosimo
- Khoa Do

Not only is this a chance to get together with friends or your family and enjoy the experience of creating a short film, but there are also fantastic prizes to be won.

The winner will receive $5000 cash, return flights for four people to Sydney, 5 star accommodation and a money-can’t-buy exclusive VIP experience to attend the 2011 Samsung Mobile AFI Awards.

For more information, check out all the prizes on offer and to enter the Reel Australia Short Film Competition at www.AUSSIEVAULT.com.au click here.
