Australian Audiences Continue To Fall For Cairo Time
September 01, 2010 10:40
CAIRO TIME continued to strike a chord with Australian audiences over the weekend, bucking the general 10% box office drop, with an increase in audience of 22% across its second weekend.
This increase gave CAIRO TIME a very impressive $5,130 per screen average over the weekend.
Staring Patricia Clarkson ('Whatever Works', 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona') and Alexander Siddig, CAIRO TIME is a romantic drama about a brief, unexpected love affair that catches two people completely off-guard.
Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza and the White Desert of the Sahara are all beautifully captured in this love letter to a city intertwined with a love story about a woman, directed by Syrian/Canadian writer/director Ruba Nadda.
Mike Selwyn, Managing Director, Paramount Pictures Australia & New Zealand, said “It's a real pleasure to see a charming, romantic film such as CAIRO TIME reach out and touch an audience. We hope that it will continue to play for a long time.”
CAIRO TIME is now showing in select cinemas.
