Bonus Category Announced for The Australian Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: Baddest Baddie!
September 01, 2010 10:38
Kids of Australia have been voting like crazy in the most exciting election around, The Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2010 – and now, a new bonus category has just been revealed: BADDEST BADDIE!
Kids have always loved a baddie, and the nominees who will be vying for this new light-hearted category are:
BADDEST BADDIE
• Riley (Xavier Samuel) – 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'
• Kyle Sandilands
• WWE Superstar The Miz (WWE Heel)
• Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) – 'Glee'
Commenting on the surprise new category, Executive Producer of KCA and Network Creative Director for Nickelodeon Australia, Kristie Phelan said: “Kids love a baddie as much as anyone else, so we thought this would be a fun new category to add.
"In the case of Kyle Sandilands, kids have enjoyed watching him as “the bad judge” on family-friendly shows such as 'Australia’s Got Talent' and will no doubt enjoy more of the same on 'X Factor'. Being a baddie in this category holds no negative connotations; it simply means you’re an entertaining villain!”
Since voting opened on August 16, kids have been flocking to the Nick Shack website in record numbers and the half million barrier was broken last Friday, with 507,000 votes from kids recorded.
Tickets for KCA are on sale via Ticketmaster (www.tickemaster.com.au) and are now very close to selling out.
