Buffy & Glee Speakers Confirmed for Film Victoria's Audience Summit
August 31, 2010 14:37
Acclaimed television writer/producer Jane Espenson, best known for her work on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, and marketing extraordinaire, Winter Mead, a key player in the GLEE Superfan online phenomenon, are heading to Melbourne for Arresting Audiences, Film Victoria’s audience summit for screen practitioners.
Award-winning writer Jane Espenson was executive story editor, producer and writer of more than 20 episodes of BUFFY, and has also written episodes for ANGEL, FIREFLY, THE GILMORE GIRLS, THE O.C, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, TORCHWOOD and CAPRICA.
Winter Mead is Product Marketing Director for Coincident TV, the outfit responsible for the Glee Superfan experience, the hugely successful, Emmy nominated social media campaign which allows viewers to simultaneously navigate the web, access their favourite GLEE social media sites, purchase merchandise and watch bonus material all from a single platform.
They’ll join more than 15 international and local speakers at Australia’s first summit to explore the importance of connecting with screen audiences to make great content.
Jane will give the keynote address and take part in a special Q&A session about the screenwriting process, and her experience working on one of the most popular and critically lauded TV series of all time.
In an exclusive case study about the Superfan Experience, Winter will reveal how the campaign took GLEE to new levels of interaction and audience engagement and led to new marketing and commercial opportunities.
Arresting Audiences is in Melbourne on 23 and 24 September 2010. Tickets for the two-day summit are $75. For more information, go to www.film.vic.gov.au
