The Australian Centre for the Moving Image will soon present the Australian premiere of 'Beyond Biba: A Portrait of Barbara Hulanicki' (2009) as part of our 2010 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week season, Fashion Icons on Film.
One lady revolutionised British fashion in the seventies: Barbara Hulanicki, the woman behind the iconic London retail hotspot, Biba. From her childhood in Poland to her beginnings as a fashion illustrator through to life in Miami post-Biba, this documentary captures the fascinating story of the woman who brought a new level of glamour to high street fashion. Directed by Louis Price.
The Australian premiere of 'Beyond Biba: A Portrait of Barbara Hulanicki' is on Sunday 29 August and the film screens until Thursday 2 September 2010.
