NZ Box Office Smash 'Boy' Visits Sydney For Intimate Q&A

Academy Award nominated director Taika Waititi has written and directed this year’s surprise box office smash hit, BOY (opening nationally on August 26) and Transmission Films, Paramount Pictures and Event Cinemas George St is pleased to welcome him to Sydney.

On August 11 at 6:45pm Event Cinemas George St will present an exclusive preview screening of BOY, followed by a question and answer session with writer/director/actor, Taika Waititi and lead actor, James Rolleston (who plays the role of, Boy).

The film has smashed all box office records in its native NZ, where the film is now in the top ten grossing films of all time in that country (even bigger than films such as 'King Kong'; 'Transformers'; and 'The Chronicles of Narnia'). It was also the winner of the Audience Award (most popular film) at the recent Sydney Film Festival.

The year is 1984, and on the rural East Coast of New Zealand “Thriller” is changing kids’ lives. Inspired by the Oscar nominated 'Two Cars, One Night', BOY is the hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age tale about heroes, magic and Michael Jackson.
