Call For Recommendations: The 2010 Byron Kennedy Award

The AFI is now seeking recommendations for the 2010 Byron Kennedy Award which will be presented at the 2010 Samsung Mobile AFI Awards.
The Byron Kennedy Award is presented for outstanding creative enterprise within the film and television industries. The award is given to an individual, usually early in their career, whose quality of work embodies the qualities of Byron Kennedy: innovation, vision and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
In 2009, the Byron Kennedy Award was presented to Ray Brown; a legendary grip, gentleman, statesman and hero unsung, for his superb, solution-orientated management skills, his spirited advocacy of the industry, and for his full-hearted mentorship and support of movies great and small. The award is presented by Kennedy Miller Mitchell in association with the AFI, and includes a cash prize of $10,000. The Byron Kennedy Jury selects the recipient of this award annually.
To submit a recommendation, please email a letter detailing your chosen candidate's achievements along with your thoughts on why they should be considered for the Byron Kennedy Award. Please also include a brief CV or filmography.
Recommendations must be received by 5pm Friday August 6.
