Little Big Shots - Film Festival JUST for Kids at Sydney Opera House
July 06, 2010 12:35
Australia’s biggest film festival entirely dedicated to kids, Little Big Shots returns to The Playhouse at Sydney Opera House from August 7 – 8 for another huge weekend of the best of local and international shorts, animation and documentaries.
Featuring films that span all genres from animation to action, and with a mix of local Australian stories, as well as films from countries across the globe including Russia, India, Iran, Japan and Latvia, the festival
inspires discussion about international cultures and highlights for everyone the gift of curiosity, imagination and tolerance.
Festival Director, Chloe Boulton, believes, “The festival is the perfect way for kids to see great stories from all over the world that would never otherwise make it to Australia. With films suitable for kids as young as two years-old, Little Big Shots is also an ideal introduction to cinema for the next generation of film-goers.”
In 2010, Little Big Shots brings a number of much-loved children’s books to the big screen, including the hilariously interactive 'Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!'; the gorgeous, multi-award winning animated version of Oliver Jeffer’s magical tale of an unlikely friendship between a little boy and the penguin in 'Lost and Found'; and the Australian premiere of 'The Bake Shop Ghost'.
