Aussie Actor Ready To Light Up UK Screens
June 23, 2010 09:50
After beating off thousands of hopefuls worldwide to win the lead role in Oscar Nominee Alex Jovy and James Bedford’s anticipated romantic comedy \'The Flirting Club\', Melbourne actor RICHARD DI GREGORIO, 32, is now ready to light up screens in the UK with its DVD release set for September 13.
The entire cast for \'The Flirting Club\' were chosen by viewers of the website www.itsourmovie.com who voted for their favourite video auditions.
Di Gregorio’s now infamous audition, filmed as a movie trailer of the character, won him the title role of Jamie, the endearing loser looking for love. He was the only Australian actor cast in this London production.
The hilarious film, currently seeking distribution in Australia, centres around the character of Jamie, who has one month to meet a real girl otherwise he has to marry Laura \'the human pig\' from next door. Inadvertently hampered by his best mate Bill and stuck with a schoolboy infatuation with his Hot Boss, two left feet and zero pick up skills, an accidental encounter with his local flirting club, might just hold all the answers.
But as everyone knows the course to true love is never easy and the gang of misfits soon learn that getting it right is more about being yourself than trying to be someone else.
