This course is an introduction to stop motion and clay animation. You will learn how to design a character and create a short animation storyboard then build a wire armature and sculpt your character out of clay. You will also learn how to set up a digital still camera, computer and lights to shoot stop-motion animation. Afterwards, you will learn how to assemble the frames into an animation sequence using After Effects software. Finally you will output your animation to DVD.

Tutor: Rob Boyd
Rob has been making short films and writing scripts since his teenage years. He studied film and animation at the Queensland College of Art. Rob made two stop-motion short films and then formed a boutique animation studio - Cycho, which produces claymation, stop-motion, mixed-media and 3D computer animation.
