Directing Masterclass with Bobby Roth

June 17, 2010 16:21

Bobby Roth, director of ‘V’, ‘Lost', ‘Prison Break’, ‘Flash Forward’ is coming to Melbourne and Sydney!

From the celebrated feature 'Heartbreakers' to hit TV shows 'Lost', 'V', 'Criminal Minds' and 'Prison Break', Bobby Roth has directed 60 TV episodes, 22 television movies, and 13 features in his 30-year career, also serving as Producer on the CBS series 'Numb3rs'. Roth’s features have been honoured at over seventy international film festivals, including five premieres at Sundance where Roth has also been a judge. His most recent release is the award-winning film 'Berkeley'.

Roth will guide you through the director’s role from first interview to prep, production and editing. Using specific examples from films and episodes of 'V', 'Prison Break' and 'Lost', Roth will discuss the director’s approach to a range of typical problematic scenes and situations, from shaping the concept, fine tuning scripts, casting and visual design, to the more specific planning and decision-making involved with stunts, action and crowd scenes. You’ll learn to analyse scripts from the director’s point of view and design shooting plans with actors, cinematographers and other creative collaborators.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn from one of the most experienced directors in the business. DIRECTING MASTERCLASS is an essential workshop for anyone wanting to produce compelling television and screen content.
